The goal of this project was to blur the boundaries between realism and “hyper-realism” through the rendering of complex materials. Basic geometric shapes were to be used for the composition.
My composition was built around the theme of tension / silence. Before creating my materials, I photographed and analysed real world materials and started by making some sketches to explore the topic further. The render was created in Keyshot by using the feature of the material graph. Each material was created from scratch by adding and combining elements in the material graph. Supporting documentation was part of the deliverables of which I’ve added two pages to show the process behind the design.
